Craving Mickey Beignets? Disney released their homemade version!

My family LOVES Beignets! It is one of our favorite stops when we are at Disneyland or Walt Disney World no matter the time of day. You can find them at the Disneyland’s New Orleans Square inside Cafe Orleans and the Mint Julep Bar. At Walt Disney World, you can find it at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter! My kids love for breakfast or a sweet treat! Disney recently posted their recipe and the homemade version definitely lives up the reputation. They are crisp on the outside and chewy while the inside is light and soft. They make my mouth water just thinking about it and I am gluten-free (and can’t even eat them!)

  4. Using caution, heat 1 inch of vegetable oil to 350°F in a deep, heavy pot over medium-high heat. Fry beignets until golden brown, about 30-60 seconds, turning as soon as they brown on one side. HOW TO MAKE MICKEY BEIGNETS

STEP ONE MAKE THE DOUGH: Sprinkle yeast over warm water in a small bowl, stirring to dissolve. Let stand for 5 minutes. Make the dough. Combine sugar, shortening, salt, heavy cream, egg, flour and boiling water in a large bowl; stir in yeast mixture. With the dough hook attachment of an electric mixer on medium speed, mix the dough just until combined and smooth. Let dough rest in greased bowl for about 1-2 hours. Cover with Saran Wrap in a nice warm space. Once dough has risen, roll out and cut into Mickey Shapes or we cut into small rectangles.

You can get the Mickey Cookie Cutter for around $6.50 for one.
